I have writer’s block.
I can blog. Blogging is different. Writing assignments are what I cannot do right now.
Last Wednesday Mr. Brigdon assigned – or so I had thought – an introduction essay. Last night I sat down to type it (I waited until last minute, yes, but I couldn’t think of ANYTHING to write!), and nothing came to mind. So how did I do it? I logged onto my WP dashboard, clicked on “New Post” and began typing whatever came to mind. Then I copied and pasted it into Microsoft Word, and formatted it to MLA format. My mom’s laptop does not have Microsoft Office – only “Word Pad”, or whatever it is called. After a lot of work (just know that it was a LOT of work; not going into detail about it 100%), I gave up for the night. I decided to bring my laptop over to my mom’s this morning – at about six – to install the printer and print out my essay. My mom and I ended up formatting it into MLA format as adequately as we could, and printed it.
Today, when I went to class, a few people were talking about it. They had written it as a journal, but had yet to completely finish it.
Today, before he let us leave (he let us out thirty minutes early), he told us that Wednesday we would be assigned our first essay, and that it would be a diagnostic essay. OH. MY. GOSH. -.-
In other words, all of the crap I did for the stupid, poorly written introduction essay was for nothing.
My alarm went off at 5 this morning; I hit snooze. Thirty minutes later it went off again, and I hit snooze. I finally decided to get ready at 5:45. Since I’d straightened my hair last night, I was ready in fifteen minutes. Then I went to my mom’s house, and well… You already know that story. 😛
I’ve been busier than I expected to be. I’m going part-time, which is three classes. Four classes is considered full-time. I go to school two days a week, and all three of my classes are on the same days: Monday and Wednesday. My first class starts at eight, which means I have to leave at 7:20 at the latest. Traffic is not as bad in the morning, and that is a big plus for taking morning classes. My last class is speech, and it ends at five minutes after noon. That is when the traffic comes out, I’m guessing. I call it “Diesel Hour”. I do not like driving with diesel trucks on the road, but it is something I am going to have to deal with no matter what. This is the most – and the farthest – I have driven alone. I’m looking at it as practice. I have not gotten to drive much since I received my DL March 3, 2010. Weird, no? I have hardly driven on the highway since I have had my DL, too.

Bah, sometimes I start at 9 and I leave home at 7. It’s pretty hectic and I guess I prefer being early rather than late. I don’t mind my schedule since it’s not very packed. You’re lucky you can drive! I probably told you, but my licence expired already and I didn’t get to learn enough. 🙁 Ah well…
I hate essays sometimes. I try to put my best effort into everything, but it sucks when all the hard work you’ve done is totally gone to waste. Best of luck in your essay though, it’ll be like that for a bit but you’ll get used to it and it’ll just be a part of school life.
Yeah, he did know about my site and stuff. :3 I feel so lucky, I know not everyone gets that opportunity. We’ve chatted on Twitter before a bit. I’m so surprised he remembers me. _
Sometimes I cry just to let things out. It feels a little more relieving afterwards instead of bottling it in. 🙂
At least you’ll know a fair bit in the course, it’ll be boring but you’ll probably do excellent!

It won’t take long, probably just a couple of days because of your hostees. The one thing you need to do is make a full back up of everyone’s accounts so I can just restore it. You can either do it or try sending a ticket to nlh.
If you do open, are you going to have an actual hosting site or use 6birds?
Ugh I hate essays, I just recently completed the one about my stupid utopia. It’s due today, so glad it’s done because i don’t want to even think about it any more.

If you ever need help or want someone to edit your essays let me know and shoot me an e-mail. I’d be more than happy to do so, and since I’m not teaching full time, I love doing things like that. Introduction essays are fun and pretty informal, which is why I like them, but he should have been a little more specific so you wouldn’t have had to go through all of that.
Highway driving is nuts. The people in my state are crazy and I get nervous sometimes too. Practice is what gets you comfortable though, for sure.

College is a lot more work than most people make it out to be, even while they’re doing the work. It probably sucks a bit that you spent a lot of time on your introduction paper, but it’s probably good for you in the long run.
However, I think that it’s great that all of your classes are on Monday and Wednesday, especially since you commute to your classes. It must make life a lot easier than otherwise.

Not being able to think when it comes to assignments sure does suck, even more so when it turns out to be for nothing! He really should have been more clear about it. Hopefully for your next REAL essay, you’ll do better 🙂 just give it time (i’m a last minute person as well, I seem to work better under pressure)
ew, trucks on the highways, hate it! it’s so scary
